Artist Donnie J. Lee uses humor and irony to comment on the nature of mass-produced creativity and its perceived exceptionalism in his naughty "Geisha" series. Incorporating title of work jewelry and ‘motifs’ on the kimonos, Lee transforms the cliched idea of the "Geisha" as he lightly subverts the idealistic tradition and leans into sensuality, satire, and progression.
