Title of work is dedicated to preserving couture techniques, with an emphasis on creating original, hand-embroidered accessories.
This season, title of work collaborated with Manonik, a Brooklyn-based textile studio committed to developing domestically curated, hand-manipulated and hand-loomed garments, in the creation of its signature accessories.
Yoshiyuki, the designer and founder of Manonik, comes from the countryside of Japan where tradition and innovation coexist in symbiosis. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in economic sociology. After a decade of working as an Art Director in advertising, he is embarking on a journey through Manonik to propose an alternative mode of crafting artifacts that transcend the traditional idea of “commodities.” He believes that even an aggression of objects as simple as garments can lead a social and perspective change to bring back humanism in our society. He currently works and resides in Brooklyn, NY.
